Percival Harold Beake was born in Quebec to English parents. The family returned to Britain when Percy was 8 years old. Percy Beake joined the RAF in 1939. He flew Typhoons with 164 Squadron during the Second World War. The Telegraph published a lengthy obituary on July 14, 2016 for S/L Percy Beake. It stated that he commanded a Typhoon squadron in support of the D-Day landings and the campaign in Normandy. See links below for more details.
